Statement No. 3 of the Headquarters for Commemorating the Bloody Ascension of the Martyr Mujahid Imam, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (May God sanctify his pure soul)

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow [by martyrdom], and some are still waiting, and they have not changed [their determination] in the least.” (Holy Qur’an, 33:23)

Following the bloody ascension of the Grand Marja of the Shi’a world, the wise Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and the standard-bearer of the Front of Truth and Resistance, the Martyr Mujahid Imam, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei (May God sanctify his pure soul), the Islamic world is in mourning for the loss of a great man who spent his entire blessed life in the path of exalting the Word of Truth, defending Islam, serving the people, and guiding the Islamic Ummah. That Martyr Leader, with firm faith, sincere struggle, steadfast patience, and divine insight, always kept the banner of Iran’s independence and the guidance and dignity of the Islamic Ummah held high; his name and memory will remain eternal in the history of dear Iran, the Islamic world, and in the hearts of the free people of the world.

The Headquarters for Commemorating the Bloody Ascension of the Martyr Mujahid Imam, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (May his status be exalted), while extending its deepest condolences to the holy presence of the Imam of the Time (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance), the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei (may his shadow extend), and to all free nations and devotees of the path of truth, hereby expresses its profound gratitude and appreciation for the fervent and loyal attendance of the risen people of Islamic Iran and all lovers of Islam and the Revolution.

Following the previous announcements of this Headquarters and in accordance with the established arrangements, we inform the honorable and mourning public that the farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies for the pure body of that Martyr Mujahid Imam and his family members—the noble martyrs Dr. Mesbah al-Hoda Bagheri-Kani, Sayyida Boshra Hosseini Khamenei, Zahra Haddad-Adel, and Zahra Mohammadi Golpaygani (may Allah’s mercy be upon them all)—will be held as follows:

• Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, 2026 (corresponding to 19th and 20th of Muharram): Farewell ceremony for the pure body at Imam Khomeini Musalla, Tehran.
• Monday, July 6, 2026 (corresponding to 21st of Muharram): Funeral procession in Tehran.
• Tuesday, July 7, 2026 (corresponding to 22nd of Muharram): Funeral procession in the holy city of Qom.
• Thursday, July 9, 2026 (corresponding to 24th of Muharram, eve of the martyrdom of Imam Sajjad, peace be upon him): Funeral procession in the holy city of Mashhad and burial in the celestial Shrine of Imam Reza (peace and blessings be upon him).

We invite the honorable and dear people, the free people of the world, devotees of the school of Islam, and all those who hold Iran dear, to attend these glorious ceremonies and pay their final respects to that Martyr Leader.

In conclusion, while expressing our gratitude for the extensive preparations and planning by the responsible authorities and popular groups to hold this event, we emphasize that the primary role in conducting these ceremonies lies with the honorable and ever-present people as the true mourners. This will surely manifest as a magnificent and unparalleled display of a popular event, God willing.
